Thanks to everyone who has been commenting, liking, reading and reflecting on two of my main cases in the last few weeks. I started a period of regular posting on the 28th anniversary of the death of Sophie Toscan du Plantier. The post I enjoyed thinking about and writing the most was the one below. I decided to show all the options in an image because otherwise the whole crime scene becomes unmanageable. And since that article came out a regular collaborator has mentioned something I did not draw out: that there was a briar that had been cleanly cut as though with a knife. I am checking if it is possible to find out when the cut was made but the implication is that it was the killer rather than the police. Here’s that article again:-
We hope the case is solved one day but this now depends on new witnesses or a new scientific breakthrough. So many people have inspected the currently known statements and other evidence and still the police review continues.
The case I am hoping to really dig into this year is Suzy Lamplugh. A number of people have been in touch with additional information. This case is somewhat local to me so I will be going into Fulham in the spring with a fresh pair of eyes. If you know Marianna Jagoda or Wendy Jones please get in touch.
This post is a little older but does cover the basic facts of the case. I might have adjusted some of my thinking since this was written but it’s still a piece I think has value.
British Gangs out now!
Finally, my book British Gangs is out tomorrow on Kindle so if you order it now, it should be downloaded and ready to read in time for breakfast! I think the hardback is better value for money but I do like reading on a Kindle and all the photos are B&W so will look the same on a Kindle as they do in the print version.
Keep it regular, keep it going especially Suzy we are happy to help. Good luck for 2025
